The PVC Industry

The European PVC chain, from resin and additive manufacture to the final product, involves many thousands of companies.

Resin producers are petrochemical companies producing large quantities, and hence are in limited numbers. The members of ECVM are representative of this category.

Additives producers are chemical companies generally also producing relatively large quantities. The members of ESPA and ECPI are representative examples.

The manufacturing of final PVC products is done by converters, who either manufacture the final product (e.g. pipes, flooring) or semi-finished products (e.g. films and sheets, window profiles). Many converters are small and medium-sized enterprises. Examples may be found within the membership of EuPC and its sectors groups.
